Kathy Greggs, a resilient US Army Combat Veteran and survivor of military sexual assault, transformed Army policies for emotional trauma victims. Volunteering at Connections of Cumberland, she managed cases for homeless women, coordinating FEMA disaster relief. In leadership roles like Chair for Fayetteville Board of Commissioners, Kathy earned recognition, receiving the 2022 A. Philip Randolph Institute “Community Leader Award.” Committed to civil rights, she serves as North Carolina Director for the Domestic Violence Rally and Vice President of NC National Organizing for Women Legislation Action. Kathy champions the Lautenburg Amendment’s reauthorization, holding military commanders accountable for domestic violence. Advocating for the Violence Against Women Act, she urges inclusive language, covering all, including LGBTQIA+ individuals and addressing teen domestic violence. Beyond official roles, Kathy is a rape crisis advocate at the Phoenix Center, ensuring no community, especially the disenfranchised, lacks sustainable infrastructure.
